Spied! 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - Spy Shots

A Camaro Z28 prototype caught during a secret winter test proves Chevy’s ultimate pony car may not be dead after all.
The on-again, off-again Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is apparently on again if these spy photos are any indication. Likely being readied for a launch perhaps as early as next year, the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is seen here taking a few hot laps in very cold surroundings.

While the nose of Chevy’s hot pony car wears camouflage, the tell-tale power dome on the hood is the tip off that this is a very special Camaro. The extra space afforded by the new hood is needed to accommodate a version of the LSA supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, which also sees duty in the Cadillac CTS-V. Like the Corvette LS9 motor on which it is based, the supercharger and intercooler sit on top of the engine, which adds considerably to the height of the unit.
